Recent Fundraising Results

• Monday, 5/17, the Jazz Lab performed at Jimmy Mak's and brought in $630 after expenses! Hope you got the opportunity to see our fine young players on Fox 12 news Friday night. What a way to round out their successful competitions and the school year by performing at such a famous establishment.
   
• Thursday, 5/20, the annual Spring Concert and Silent Auction fundraiser was held. We hope you enjoyed all the wonderful music and were able to scoop up some wonderful auction items. After expenses, the auction brought in $5,020!
   
• Saturday June 5 - thankfully the rain held off while we worked at the Starlight Run. They had a record 3800 participants for the run. Thank you to all those who stepped up to help out, some whom committed last minute as Hamilton Events needed extra people--some groups bailed out on them. I can tell by the way we were spread out that we were the fill-ins, and I appreciate everyone's willingness to be so flexible. The most difficult part was regrouping at the end. By my estimation, our helping will bring in $630...great job, everyone...and THANK YOU!

Fantastic Tag Days at Safeway!  Thank you to all who came out!
Overall between the two days, 42 books were sold to bring in $840 and $584.53 in donations were collected for a total of $1,424.53. Way to go!!

Sally Foster and Entertainment Book Results!

We ended up having great success with Sally Foster and Entertainment Book sales this year thanks to everyone's hard work. This kind of thing takes team work and the results speak for themselves.

For Sally Foster, we had $3079 in sales, which is about $500 higher than last year.

For Entertainment books, I was surprised when I looked back on my totals from last year--we sold only 190 books. This year we sold a whopping 419! Way to go!

Since this year's Sally Foster is on a sliding scale, I don't yet know if we earned the full 50% of sales. With the Entertainment books, we needed to sell a minimum of 500 books to get 50% of the sales and we were just short. The volleyball team, however, is having/had an Entertainment Book campaign going on also, so under the Sunset High School umbrella, we hope to achieve that 500 book goal, which will help each other to get the full 50%.

Through the incentive with Entertainment books, for each student selling 5 books, 1 book is given to be sold at pure profit. According to my calculations, we earned 60 books! Entertainment is also giving us 20 more books to sell...that's 80 books totaling $1600!! How cool is that?!

When I find out, I will report what our actual profit was for these two fundraising campaigns, but I wanted to share the great news. I want to thank everyone who participated to make it such a success! Are there any volunteers to chair this fundraiser next season? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks!

An easy way that SAMBA earns dollars (without much effort from us) is to shop at Albertsons--a Community Partner with SAMBA.

• If you're not already an Albertson's card holder, please get one for even those occasional purchases from the store.
• Once you have your card, go online to www.albertsons.com  and scroll toward the bottom along the Blue Line and click on "In the Community."
• Below the picture of the little girl, click on "Albertsons Community Partners" and a new window will open up.
• Select "Sign In" and a enter your 10-digit card number (you need to first receive your card if you're a new shopper) and the phone number linked to your card, click "Login."
• Go to "My Account"
• If you've already got SAMBA listed as a partner, there's nothing else to do but shop.
• If SAMBA is not listed, select "Add a Partner."
• SAMBA's 11-Digit Number is: 49001008921.
• SAMBA should be listed....click the box to the left to select SAMBA and click on "Add Selected Partners"

Thank you...SAMBA will then get a check from Albertsons through purchases made there!
